Book Review: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Hey Blog cuties! 💕

So, I just finished reading The Alchemist and let me tell you it was way deeper (and prettier) than I expected. Like, I went in thinking “oh cool, treasure hunt story,” but came out feeling like I just had a whole spiritual awakening 😭✨

💖 Quick Summary:
It’s about Santiago, a shepherd who keeps having this dream about treasure. Instead of ignoring it, he literally drops everything and goes on this wild adventure across the desert to find it. Along the way, he meets a bunch of people who help him realize that the real “treasure” isn’t always what you think sometimes it’s about learning, growing, and trusting yourself. 🌙

🌸 My Thoughts:
This book seriously gave me “follow your dreams” energy. Every page had a little quote that made me stop and think about my own life (and yes, I may have highlighted half the book 😂). I love how it mixes magical vibes with real-life lessons it’s like a cozy, wise friend giving you advice over hot cocoa. ☕💫

💬 Favorite Quote:
“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
The Alchemist 💭

💕 Final Rating:
✨✨✨✨⭐ (4.5/5 sparkles!)
Perfect if you love books that make you think, dream, and believe in yourself a little more.

So yeah, The Alchemist totally earned its spot on my “books that changed me just a little bit” list. 💖 Now I just need another book that gives me this same kind of dreamy, soul-searching vibe!

xoxo,
Lilly 🌸📚

Finished reading #BlownAway

Dear Blog,

Okay, so I finally finished The Alchemist and… wow. Just wow. 😭✨

First of all, can we give a round of applause for Santiago?! 👏 My boy went through so much like deserts, danger, love, and a whole lot of soul-searching just to end up realizing the treasure was closer than he ever thought. (No spoilers but… the irony had me screaming! 😂)

Honestly, it wasn’t even about the gold at the end. The whole journey was kinda this big metaphor about following your dreams and trusting yourself, which sounds cheesy, but it actually hit hard. Like, sometimes you have to go on your own “desert adventure” before you realize what really matters. 💭💫

I also loved how everything kept circling back the omens, the signs, the lessons. It made me think about how maybe everything really does happen for a reason (even when it feels random). I swear this book had me in my deep thought's era 😌📚

So yeah, The Alchemist turned out to be way more than a schoolbook for me. It was like a little reminder to keep believing in my dreams even if they sound crazy or far away. Because maybe they’re not that far at all 💕

Mid-Way Through the Alchemist #Loving it

Dear Blog,

Okay sooo I’m officially halfway through The Alchemist and OMG things are getting real. 😭✨

First off, Santiago is no longer just a shepherd boy minding his sheep. He is out here crossing deserts, meeting mysterious people, and learning deep spiritual lessons like he’s in some kind of self-discovery reality show 😂. Every chapter I’m like, “Okay, universe, I see you what you are gonna teach him this time!”

Also, can we talk about how every person he meets somehow knows exactly what to say to make him question his whole life? Like, sir, I just met you why are you suddenly my therapist?? 💅

And don’t even get me started on the Englishman and the alchemy stuff… it’s giving main character energy mixed with “I have crystals and a manifestation journal” vibes. 🌙🔮 I’m kinda obsessed.

What’s wild is that I thought this book was just going to be about treasure, but now it feels more like it’s about finding yourself and listening to your heart (aww 🩷). It’s actually making me think about my own goals like maybe the universe really does have a plan for us? Or maybe I’ve just been reading too much Paulo Coelho 😅

Anyway, I can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m really hoping Santiago gets some answers soon, because I’m dying to know if the treasure is even real or just a metaphor this whole time!

Until next time,
xoxo, Lilly 💕✨

The Alchemist so far

Dear Blog,

Sooo I’m a few chapters into The Alchemist, and let me just say... I'm in love with the main character Santiago! 😆💖 Santiago, is this shepherd who keeps having a dream about treasure, and instead of ignoring it, he actually decides to go find out what it means. Like, how cool and brave is that? I wish I had that kind of confidence to just chase something I believe in, no matter how crazy it sounds.

There’s also this old king who shows up out of nowhere (like, where did he even come from??) and starts talking about destiny and “Personal Legends” which sounds super mysterious and deep. I was literally sitting there like, okay sir, drop the wisdom 👑✨

Anyway, it’s kinda funny because I started reading this thinking it’d just be another schoolbook, but now I’m actually invested?? Like I need to know if Santiago finds his treasure or if it’s all just one big life lesson about following your dreams and trusting the universe

I’m still not that far in, but I already feel like this book is going to be one of those stories that sticks with me. I can’t wait to see where Santiago’s journey takes him next. Maybe I’ll learn something about myself along the way too 💫

xoxo,
Lilly 💕🌸

Before Reading the Alchemist

Dear Blog,

Today my teacher told us we’re starting our first book of the semester The Alchemist! 📖✨ I actually remember reading a few pages of it back in middle school, and I kinda liked it back then, so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it even more this time. From what I remember, it’s about this guy who goes on a big journey to find his “personal legend,” which sounds super deep, right?

I’m actually kinda excited because I’ve been wanting to get back into reading lately (especially books that make you think about life and goals). Plus, it feels nice to start something new in class that’s not just another boring essay or worksheet, haha.

Maybe I’ll post little updates here about what I think as I read it. Who knows maybe The Alchemist will end up being one of those books that totally changes the way I see things 🌙💭

Wish me luck!

xoxo,
Lilly 🌸📚
